ABOUT THE COURSE
The Bachelor’s Degree in Pleasure Craft Eengineering will supply you the method of study and the basic scientific skills required to keep you updated at your training in time. This course will also provide you the basic technical/professional skills for the working world, and will teach you to apply methods, techniques and tools which are available today, both as free-lances and in manufacturing and service companies, for:
– planning and scheduling.
In the meantime you will be acquainted with the professional and ethical responsabilities that your work requires in future. The subjects generally include, the basic disciplines common to the other Industrial Engineering courses, and some disciplines characterizing the naval and nautical field, in which it is possible to identify four main branches: Naval Architecture, that studies the hydrostatics aspects (geometry, balance, stability) and the hydrodynamic aspects (motion resistance, propulsion, seakeeping) of the design.
Naval Constructions, studies the problems of the structural proportioning of the hull (acting loads, design and dimensioning of structures, strength tests) and the construction methodologies. Naval Systems, include both the propulsion system (propulsion machinery, shaft, propeller) and the hull services and specific installations, as well as auxiliary machineries. Arrangement and layout design, that studies the distribution criteria of the spaces, the ergonomics and the aesthetics from the point of view of both general and single elements composing the boat.
Particularly the occupational openings of the Ingegneria Nautica Bachelor’s Degree graduated are:
– Vessel and Yacht building and refitting yards (Building and Refitting Shipyards);
– Pleasure craft sector operators;
– Classification Register and Surveying Boards;
– Design and consultancy professional studios.
